The Bible says "It is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2)". Finding support, growing well, and successfully reproducing are only a few benefits of being together with others. Many dangers exist for those who choose to live isolated from His flock. As our Chief Shepherd, Christ provides perfectly for us. He knows what we have need of even before we ask Him - even better than we do ourselves! And local churches like ours are His primary means of caring for us..
Jesus said "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matthew 16)." In fact, He is our Chief Cornerstone. He also said we were eternally connected to Him, as well as to the Apostles, and to all Christians in every age. This attachment is not just supernatural, but tangible and real. Local churches such as ours are His means of finishing the work He accomplished on the cross. Genuine Christians not only recognize each other - He intends for us to live our lives interdependent on each other, and with Him. Serious questions arise when so-called "Christians" endeavor to live apart from His gracious provision.
No light was ever useful until it shone in plain view. God said we are to be "light for the nations, that [His] salvation may reach to the ends of the earth (Isaiah 49)." Local churches like ours are not perfect. After all, we are hospitals for sinners, not sanctuaries for saints. Nevertheless, no other institution of man claims Jesus Christ as its Head. For all that may be wrong with the church, there is nothing else on earth that "holds a candle to it." Join us, as we "cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light (Romans 13)."
